We are happy to announce that beginning Palm Sunday, Divine Liturgy is being celebrated every first Sunday of the month for the faithful of the Northern Sierra Region Armenian Apostolic Church. This parish includes South Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Reno cities. The visiting pastor of the parish is the Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Sipan Mekhsian.

On July 11th, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Parish Council Chairman Richard Charshafian, was ordained to the order of Deacon by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian. Also attending was the pastor of the host parish, Fr. Charlie Durante. From the Western Diocese was Fr. Asoghig Jamgochian, pastor of St. James Armenian Church, Sacremento, and Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian, pastor of St. Gregory Armenian Church of Fowler. In his sermon, the Primate welcomed the guest clergy, diocesan clergy, and deacons in attendance. He then congratulated the newly ordained deacon, and spoke about vocation and service. He especially emphasized the service of Mrs. Charshafian, and the parish council of the Armenian Church of the North Sierra Region.
