Western Diocese

The Armenian Apostolic Church of La Canada parish priest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, the Parish Council and the Building Fund Committee have developed programs to establish a church for the parish.

In the evening of July 14th, Dr. and Mrs. Simon and Lena Simonian hosted at their residence a warm and friendly gathering with over 70 guests in attendance. Abp. Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, offered his greetings to those in attendance including Abp. Vatche Hovsepian and parish priest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, parish council chairman Vahan Aladadian, and California State Assemblyman Paul Krekorian, Mr. Walter Karabian, Mr. Mark Giragos, and esteemed guests.

$30,000 was collected for the building fund. Mr. Mark Giragos pledged $25,000, which will be donated from the New York Life Insurance settlement amount.

The Primate thanked those in attendance, for through there support is will be possible to establishe a church for the faithful of the Armenian Church of La Canada, and offered his appreciation for the events hosts Dr. and Mrs. Simon and Lena Simonian.
