On Saturday March 24, 2007, youth from the Oriental Orthodox Sister Churches will gather at the STM to participate in a day long retreat regarding leadership in the Church as well as lent. This event is the result of the strong relationship that has been maintained between the four participant Dioceses of the Council of Oriental Orthodox Churches which is presided over by the respective bishop’s of each church, and its auxiliary body the Oriental Orthodox Church Youth Committee. The upcoming event will be a stepping stone to much larger scale events in the future.

Regarding the upcoming retreat, His Eminence Abp. Hovnan Derderian said “Interchurch youth fellowship is of vital importance. During these fellowships we must share goodwill, love and the gift of our experiences. The end result of retreats such as this will be the strengthening of our respective churches and therefore, the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
