Western Diocese

Los Angeles, CA – On Thursday, March 20^th, 2007, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and several guests attended a celebration of the 80^th Anniversary hosted by Los Angeles City Attorney Rockard Delgadillo. During the reception Delgadillo welcomed to the Primate and his guests with hospitality.

The primate shared with the City Attorney a brief history of the Western Diocese, and the vital role it has played and continues the play in the Armenian American community. He acknowledged and thanked the City Attorney for hosting the first official event related to the 80^th anniversary of the Western Diocese. Additionally, he offered his gratitude to Mr. Delgadillo on behalf the Armenian American community for the service he has rendered to Los Angeles. He then invited him to the official celebrations the Diocese will be hosting regarding the 80^th Anniversary later this year.

Accompanying the Primate was Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Yardemian, Fr. Manoog Markarian, Mr. Hovsep Kanimian, Dr. Vahram Biricik, Mr. Armen Hampar, Mr. Berj Shahbazianm Dr. Harout Yaghsezian, Ms. Lily Ring Balian, Dr. Simon Simonian, Mr. Ara Agishian, Dr. Raffi Balian, Mr. Adrin Nazarian, Mr. Vahe Ashjian, Mr. Tony Truisi, Mrs. Naiyri Zargarian, and Mr. Marty Dakessian. Also in attendance were several Armenian American members of the City Attorney’s staff.
