Western Diocese

On the occasion of the 80th Anniversary, with the efforts of Archpriest Fr. Vartan Kasparian, and Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian, on July 28, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a spiritual retreat was held for adults at St. Mary Armenian Church of Yettem.  The retreat was held under the auspices of Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese.  In the absence of the Primate, Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian conveyed his greetings and best wishes for a successful retreat.

The following churches in the Central Valley participated in the retreat:

• St. Paul Armenian Church, Fresno
• St. Mary Armenian Church, Yettem
• St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, Fowler
• Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church, Reedley
• Holy Cross Armenian Church, Turlock

Lectures were delivered by Diocesan Council member, Vahram Biricik – “Genesis from a Scientific Perspective” and “Thy Kingdom Come;” and Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian – “Great Deceptions Exposed.”   A question and answer period followed.
