 On Wednesday, January 30, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, was the honored guest at a reception and luncheon hosted by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos, the Head of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco.

January 30, 2008 — Burbank – Before a gathering of nearly 150 people at the headquarters of the Western Diocese, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese presided over a ceremony and banquet honoring Greg and Seta Tcherkoyan as Western Diocese Stewards of the Year.

Group from St. John Armenian Church of San Francisco Made Pilgrimage to Western Diocese

January 25, 2008 — Despite the heavy rain, a group of 22 people from St. John Armenian Church of San Francisco made a heartfelt pilgrimage to the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, in Burbank and were warmly received by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, and other Diocesan clergy.

Summer Camp Committee Meets; Plans Upcoming Year

January 18, 2008 — The Western Diocese Summer Camp Committee gathered for its second regular meeting of the 2008 Summer Camp season on Saturday, January 5th at St. Paul, Fresno. We joined other Diocesan organizations, including Camp Board, Diocesan Council and ACYO Central council, at a luncheon and open forum discussion hosted by Abp. Hovnan Derderian.

$11,600 Donations Made by St. Andrew of Cupertino in 2007

January 18, 2008 — During year 2007, St. Andrew Armenian Church of Cupertino, Santa Clara Valley, raised and donated $11,600 to various causes within and without the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church.

Christmas Celebrated in Western Diocese

January 6, 2008 — On January 6, 2008, on the feast day of Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Primate celebrated Divine Liturgy, offered the sermon and presided over the Blessing of Water Ceremony at the Diocesan Headquarters. Despite the heavy rain, over 800 enthusiastic faithful-members of the Western Diocese filled the Kalaydjian Hall of the Diocesan Headquarters to celebrate the Birth of Christ.

Peter and Paul, according to the Church calendar.  His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, on Sunday, December 30, 2007, on the occasion of the Name Day of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys, celebrated Divine Liturgy and offered the sermon at the sanctuary of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys. In his sermon, the Primate reflected on the lives of Sts. Peter and Paul and their ministry and missionary activities throughout the world.
